Trip of the lifetime

This day finally came! We are sitting right now in Russian Aeroflot plane flying to Moscow Sheremietievo airport, where we will switch to plane to Bangkok Thailand and later Chiang Mai.

Day that I’m writing about is a start of our trip. Today we started journey of our lifetime - half year (or maybe more 😉 ) without job, home, far away from Europe. We were thinking about it for long time. I had this set already at work a year ago - my supervisors allowed me to go for so long unpaid vacation - so I’ve place where to go back. Karolcia had to quit - but it’s not a problem - find job in IT is pretty easy. Worst was leaving everything in Munich - we didn’t wanted to pay for apartment so we released it- we will find new one after coming back. A lot of stuff we transported to our parents in Poland - we found out that our Honda is a sporty transporter, and I’m master of luggage Tetris 😃. Meanwhile we did a lot of shopping - new light and solid trekking shoes and sandals, new backpacks capable of transporting our stuff for half of year. We also went crazy, and bought new camera - after long love with Nikon DLSR we got lighter Mirrorless from Fuji - and so far we are super happy.

Anyway - we prepared our equipment pretty good - but not so much with our route - but it is also a plan! We have our map with places we want to see on Indochina and accommodation in Chang Mai in north part of Thailand, later we will see, we don’t want to be in rush. Two days before departure we realized that we don’t need Thai visa, but they might require ticket as a proof that we will leave country in 30 days. We wanted to leave Thailand by bus to Myanmar, but looks that we could have problems with that. Even on Warsaw Airport we were asked if we have such tickets. So we bought tickets from Bangkok to Mandalay sitting in front of airport gate. I guess we will go more on budget going back from Myanmar. From interesting things I can add that similar like a year ago (this is our second trip to Thailand) we will see Loi Krathong festival - celebration of ending of raining season - and similar like a year ago - we didn’t plan it 😃 - more about it soon!.

To be honest I think I still haven't realized that this is not just the ordinary vacation - but I think it will happen in Chang Mai Tomorrow evening.

We will try to write about everything on the fly - so if you are interested - like our Facebook pageopen in new window, and our Instagram Profileopen in new window!
